These pottery fragments (left) of a 17th
century ceramic jug made in Germany were recently found buried in the
state of Maine (USA) at the Ft. St. George archaeological site. Founded
in 1607 and abandoned in 1608, the Popham Colony is a time capsule of
life at the dawn of the English colonial period in North America. Discover
more in this first ArchaeoVideo Field Communiquè, a multimedia report
with video clips shot during 2000 field season.
