(1) “Man Creates Man”: inspired by the clay model of a house with nine human figurines placed inside it, found at a Neolithic site in Greece and dated to 5500 BC. The film aims to shed light on aspects of the social organization and ideology of the Neolithic farmers of Thessaly. (2) “Cai Lun’s Key”: Secluded from the rest of the world for centuries, the Kam people of southwestern China maintain a papermaking tradition that can be traced directly to the Chinese official Cai Lun, who is credited with inventing paper over 2000 years ago.
