The Trappers Point (7880-4690 BP) pronghorn kill site was excavated in advance of US 191 construction by the Wyoming Department of Transportation. As a result, we now know how, during what season, and for how long humans have hunted pronghorn in the Green River Basin, and biologists have learned how long pronghorn have used the same migration route. The information gained from the excavations has aided significantly in road and range management decisions and none of it would have been learned without the National Historic Preservation Act.
