In this video, Donny George Youkhanna, former Director of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad pleads for us to remember the looting of the Museum and archaeological sites of Iraq, often called the "Cradle of Civilization." During April 10–12, 2003, thousands of objects from the Museum's priceless collections were systematically looted and destroyed, causing an immeasurable loss to the people of Iraq and the world. Even more devastating is the ongoing plunder of Iraq's ancient sites, which feeds the international black market trade in antiquities. This video is produced by SAFE (Saving Antiquities for Everyone) in connection with candlelight vigils planned to commemorate the event April 10–12, 2007.
