Divers and snorkelers can tour six shipwrecks on the Maritime Heritage Trail in Biscayne National Park.  Before her ruin upon the reefs in 1966, the yacht Mandalay was an impressive two-masted sailing ship.   Originally built in 1928, she was christened Hardi Biaou.  She was a model of luxury, decorated in mahogany, teak and ivory.  During World War II, she was renamed Valor and served as a patrol boat protecting the eastern seaboard from German U-boats.  After the war, the Windjammer Cruise Line purchased and then christened her Mandalay.
